My Chances Gets a Mention in The Wallstreet Journal

If you didn’t catch it a few weeks back, My Chances got a mention in “The Juggle” portion of The Wallstreet Journal as a resource high school students are using to find colleges. In a post titled “How to Survive the College Admissions Frenzy,” My Chances was described as a site used to help students determine their odds of getting accepted at their top choice college.

If you’ve found My Chances useful, please let us know! James and I are working as hard as we can to make the site useful for you and to (hopefully) reduce some of the stress of the college search.

I just inputted my profile and can’t understand how the computer automatically put me in with such low chances of getting in. Then I thought it was because I didn’t add my AP classes. Once I added the AP classes, my chances didn’t improve. Is that a computer glitch?
    Many thanks. Enjoy the website!

Hey, thanks for using the site! Would you mind sending me a private message (you can click the private message link from my profile here: http://college.mychances.net/view/?id=16&app=college ).

Then I’ll be able to check out your profile and help see if any problems are going on. Sweetness.

Thanks, and I really appreciate the kind comment!

I’ve found it useful- if nothing else, it provides stress relief in this late Feb/early March super tense period. Great work.

Thanks @kahkah14! I’ve really been appreciating the valuable feedback you’ve been giving James and I. Best of luck with admissions.

It definitely has been pretty helpful in the sense that you get a statistical representation of your expected chances of getting into any university although I do find that some of the predictions are waaaay off key. But definitely keep up the good work!

    Thanks @poodlebunny –

I’ll think through how we can best address those schools with bad predictions by allowing users to flag, etc. Appreciate you using the site, and if you have any advice/things you want the site to do (or do better), let us know. it’s all for you!
