I am applying to this school, and I can pretty much submit an essay on any topic that I want, it just has to be 500-800 words. But the vagueness of that is causing me problems~! I can't pick a topic! Can anyone help? What topic do you think I should do...? Or.... what topic did you do on your essay? I can't decide, can't decide...

Pick a topic that's dear to you and something you can really get into. For example, people you admire, things that had an impact on your life, and challenges you overcame. I had difficulty choosing a topic as well but writer's block eventually fades. Try to choose a topic that no one else can do and is only unique to you, but if you do a redundant topic, do it uniquely. Good luck dude!

in addition to beast22's post, i say choose a topic that is specific. answering a vague question with more vagueness will not cut it. the key to answering a vague question is to have a specific answer. write about something you are extremely passionate about perhaps. maybe you could write about a specific person who has made an impact, a significant effect thats made an impact, a personal/community/global issue that you're really interested in, or anything along those lines. you just have to make sure that you write about YOURSELF! colleges want to know who YOU are. always make sure you evaluate what you write. examine it and ask after editing, how well will admissions officer know me after reading my essay? good luck
