I'm a potential IR major and so my top schools are all the obvious choices: georgetown, gw, tufts, etc. georgetown is my #1 and although I have good test scores my GPA is lacking. I have about a 4.7 weighted (4-point scale), although I'm not exactly sure how to lower it...I think it's about 3.7 unweighted but I'm not sure. I've got about an A minus average and have definitely had my shares of B's and B pluses. I also don't have anything absolutely "distinguishing" about me. I'm upper-middle-class, white, midwestern, my parents are married, no great tragedies have ever happened to me, no great successes either.
Anyway, I was just wondering...the computer gives me about a 33% chance of getting into Georgetown, but I was wondering what you folks think.
P.S.: GW and Georgetown are IMMENSELY popular at my school...I know about 6 or 7 people applying to both for IR, all with similar grades to mine. My test scores are loads better (2320 and 34), and I have EC's concentrating around Spanish and IR (whereas they don't) but I'm worried about whether schools will be hesitant to take multiple students with the same interest from one school.
