Common Application Reccomendations!
« on: November 03, 2009, 04:00:41 pm »

I am just wondering out of curiosity-

couldn't someone just write their own recommendations for the common application and submit them online from a fake email address?

i know people who are doing this!

i guess you could but why take the risk?

you should get a rec. from a teacher who you know will write good things about you, and not have to worry.

lets say they find out somehow that your doing that, goodbye college!

just get a teacher you know, trust and have faith in

One thing that may be helpful: ask if someone can write you a *positive* letter of recommendation. If they say yes, and you believe them to be trustworthy, then you know they will be writing something positive about you. Most people who feel they can't write a positive letter wouldn't say yes to any request, anyways (though there are exceptions). This might help you feel more relieved after asking, though.
