WHICH ONE SHOULD I GO FOR  SINCE MY MAJOR WOULD BE NUCLEAR ENGG.

MOREOVER VT IS OUT OF RECKONING.

THEREFORE WHICH ONES BETTER OUT OF PURDUE & PENN STATE.
I KNOW PURDUE IS A BIG BRAND BUT IS PENN STATE EQUALLY BIG & FOR ENGG. ?

IS PENN STATE COMPARABLE TO THE LIKES OF GEORGIA TECH , MICHIGAN , WISCONSIN , UCLA.

IS IT A BIG NAME OUT THERE IN US . BETTER SALARIES ?

MY PARENTS PREFER PENN STATE CAUSE OF ITS LOCATION i.e. PROXIMITY TO NEW YORK , PITTS , PHILLY , BOSTON, NEW JERSEY. GOOD PLACE, POSCH IN LIVING. ALSO MY DADS FRIEN RESIDING IN STATES HAS POINTED TO PENN.

BUT I AM REALLY CONFUSED CAUSE MAY 1ST IS THE DEADLINE .

Purdue vs Penn State

Purdue is kind of in the middle of nowhere, out in Indiana. As you said, Penn State's closer to the big cities, even if UPark itself is surrounded by little. But UPark is fantastic I heard, everybody who went there loved it, a college town with a good atmosphere. Philly is a little while away, if you want to hit the city.

Penn State has really good job placement facilities, so you have a better chance of getting a job straight out of college, especially in this economy. Also, Penn State has some of the best parties around if your into that, but I also heard Purdue's were crazy too. Both are jock schools, if you like to play sports and such, and have great division 1 sports teams.

If I were you, unless your in Indiana and can pay less to go in state to Purdue, would take Penn State. I was real sad when UPark rejected me. I cant tell you about the engineering programs and academics wise, but as far getting a job after graduation and being near the cities, I would go Penn State. But you should find out about the academic side for sure.

Perdue is amazinly well known for engeneering and its not by cities like New york but it is not the middle of no where i live in indiana if you want middle of no where go  to CANADA!

penn state sucks you will get very bored of everything your first year. all the parties are the same and everything is just boring. it takes 4 hours to get anywhere

Not Purdue for sure, although im applying there 2, purdue is seriously in the middle of nowhere. When we say indiana what do we think of? Nothing comes to mind... hmm...
so Penn state.

PSU also has one of the largest (if not the largest alumni network in the country - that definitely doesn't hurt your job placement.)
Don't think that if you're at PSU you'll be able to hit up philly on the weekends (if you're going 80mph the whole way it's still a 3-hour drive...)
I would say, out of the colleges you listed, that it's comparable to Wisconsin.
