Hm. I guess I will use this to briefly introduce myself (though i’m quite the talker).
I’m pretty much addicted to the college process. My top choices are Hopkins, Georgetown & UVA and I want to major in international relations/studies.
I think most of parts of this process are overly dramatic and overly personalized. While on the other hand the standardizations (ahem, testing) bug the crap out of me, though I can see why they are necessary. Doesn’t mean i have to like them!
I used to be obsessed with rankings but as I come to understand myself as a person better.. I drifted away from that objective concept. My main criteria for a college are as follows (to quote a friend): “I want to be around smart people who do cool stuff.” Most of the time the reason I’m attracted to the higher-ranked colleges is because they attract the smartest students.
I’ll rant about something later, I’m sure.
