Gettin even bigger. And more annoying.
OK, for my inaugural blog post here, I am not even going to talk about college. Instead, I’m going to talk about Bigresource. Bigresource.com is this incredibly annoying website with the tagline “Bigresource.com – Gettin even bigger.” It just kind of aggregates posts from a bunch of other resources – mostly Usenet and mailing lists. Then, it displays dozens of them together as if they were some coherent thread. But no, they are not a coherent thread. The “reply” to the original post invariably has nothing to do with it – and why should they be related? The original post was written on a forum in 2008, and the “reply” was written to an email list in 2001. It’s just trash.
Basically, Bigresource is the world’s biggest, most annoying made-for-Google Adsense website ever. Why Google doesn’t catch onto their spam, I’m not sure. But every time they pop up on my search results, I hit that ‘X’ as quickly as possible – and you should, too.
